Los Angeles has the highest concentration of celebrities anywhere in the world. To know where they hang out is to have access to the very best in shopping, dining, relaxation and entertainment. If you’re visiting LA, here are our tips for some of the best places to go – not just for an indulgent experience, but for a chance to spot more than a few famous faces.

Brentwood Country Mart

Head to this luxury retail village for a great mix of fabulous shopping, lovely dining and a family atmosphere. Brentwood is popular with stars and their kids, with a range of quaint mechanical rides, pony rides at the weekend, and seasonal holiday events. It also puts on outdoor movies in the summer. It’s reportedly a favourite of Hollywood stars including Ben Affleck and Reece Witherspoon.

The Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills

A stay – or even a meal – at The Four Seasons is likely to put you in the same building as some instantly-recognisable celebrities. One of the best hotels in LA, it features beautiful interiors, hand-designed suites, a stunning pool and spa, and the Culina restaurant, which is a favourite for many A-listers. You could see stars such as Morgan Freeman or Orlando Bloom hanging out here.

300 S Doheny Drive, Los Angeles

Staples Center

If you want to take in some classic American sport during your stay, then head for the Staples Center, home to both the Lakers and the Clippers basketball teams. Here, for a big game, you could easily catch sight of some of LA’s sporting enthusiast stars, such as Denzel Washington or Jack Nicholson. And if sport’s not your thing (book well ahead if it is) you could also end up seeing your favourite celebrity at a big gig, also hosted at the Center.

1111 S Figueroa Street, Los Angeles

Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market

Plan your Sunday in LA around the amazing Beverly Hills Farmer’s Market, where many local restaurants source their food. There are plenty of samples to try, lots of colour, music and fun, and a great vibe. It’s perfect for post-breakfast strolling and people-watching. You might even bump into dressed-down celebrities like Jennifer Garner or Chris Hemsworth. And if you’re not staying in Beverly Hills, there are plenty more markets to choose from in the LA area.

Civic Center Drive, Los Angeles

Pacific Palisades Recreation Center

A beautiful park in the lovely Pacific Palisades neighbourhood, where you may catch a glimpse of celebrities spending some downtime with their children. The park has a baseball field, basketball courts, tennis courts and a playground as well as plenty of space for a morning stroll. Locals say Adam Sandler and Harrison Ford are among the faces you might recognise.
